C is for Cat

I recently had reason to pull out a set I've been wanting to play with for the longest time -- C is for Cat -- but sadly it was for the passing of a friend's grandcat.  Here's the sympathy card I made for her to send:

The technique used is called color blocking.  I made two more cards out of the leftover blocks:

Eleven Cards in One Day -- No Foolin'!

A minor miracle has occurred!  I sat down to stamp yesterday and cranked out 11 (yes, ELEVEN!) cards!  I must say, I'm rather pleased with myself. Then again, I was highly motivated.  I had promised to make some cards for the tenant association here where I live, and the deadline was this morning!  I agreed a couple of weeks ago to make these cards, but did I work on them?  Well, yes!!  ... but I had only finished one card, the following birthday card:

And the inside:

Wouldn't you know it, though?  No sooner had I completed this birthday card than I found out they wanted general "thinking of you" kind of cards instead!  So, I put everything aside in order to regroup... hear the clock tick (tick, tick, tick), and before I knew it, the deadline was upon me!  Eek!  So I shifted into high gear...

... and started out with a card idea I had seen floating around on Pinterest.  I change the orientation and made a few other changes, and here's what I came up with:

I liked it so much that I made another:

... and some matching envelopes, of course:

If you're wondering about the paper, it's Stampin' Up!'s specialty Designer Series Paper called Mocha Morning, which features black flocking and metallic ink.  The cards practically glow in real life!

Next I broke into my new Everyday Enchantment DSP, also from SU!  I'd found another card that I really liked on Pinterest, and decided to CASE it, adding my own touches, in four coordinating colors:  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Poppy Parade:

The last five cards I made using the Stampin' Up! set Mixed Bunch.  Colors are Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder:

The insides also have a splash of color:

Not bad for a day's work, huh?  I have another card that I'm itching to CASE, so watch for another blog post soon!
