More Color Experimentation

I used SU!'s Pick a Petal set for these two cards. First one is in Orchid Opulance and Ballet Blue, which I like. Second one is in Purely Pomegranite and Ballet Blue -- which is absolutely striking in person. *sigh* It's taken me all day, but I finally made a couple of cards I feel good about. I'm hoping I've found my "groove" again!

In the Spotlight Pull-out Card

These two cards use the SU! set In the Spotlight with Pixie Pink and Tempting Turquoise.

I thought I'd do something a little different and make it a pull-out card instead of a regular notecard. The tag with the three circles and the piece of ribbon at the top inserts inside the pink pocket, and a personal note can be written on it.

I'm not sure I like the color combination on this one, either. Any thoughts?

Interesting Color Combination... Jury Still Out

Here's a card design using Stampin' Up!'s Purely Pomegranite and Orchid Opulance. Any opinions?

A Brief Brush with Fame

What fun! The card I posted on July 25th made the front page of the Rubber Road Yahoo group! You can see it for the next week at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RubberRoad/.

Too Hot to Stamp

It's been about a million degrees in my apartment (who me, exaggerate?) for the last few days. It's super hot outside, and my little window air conditioner is struggling to keep up -- and failing miserably. I don't handle heat well, so I've been laying low and doing my best to keep relatively cool by moving around as little as possible and taking lots of naps.

Anyhoo, I ran across an interesting website today for World Card Making Day: http://www.worldcardmakingday.com
The holiday, which is the first Saturday in October, seems to be starting off slowly as far as "world" holidays go, but there is still a lot of cool stuff on the website, including card ideas and inspiration and a place to post pictures of your own cards. How cool is that?

More Cards during Computer Crash

Since I had time on my hands, I thought I'd get an early start making a birthday card for a friend whose birthday is in early September. This card uses the SU! set In the Spotlight and the colors Pixie Pink and Basic Black.

The background paper and the quote on this next card is SU!'s, but the butterfly stamp is TAC.

All About You and Happiness

Well, the unthinkable happened last week: My computer crashed! I spent most of the week on the phone with Dell tech support, but while waiting for parts to ship I did do a little stamping, mostly with SU!'s Happiness background stamp and the set All About U.

Except for the one card I'm sure you'll be able to pick out of the lineup, I used Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst and Pixie Pink.
